While Jodorowsky and Mœbius characterized him as The Fool in a more biblical sense – someone with depraved morality – Russell writes him more as a bumbling idiot. John Difool once again takes center stage. It’s very good on its own, but unfortunately not as excellent as the quality of other famous artists who’ve drawn for the Incal universe – just look up Mœbius or Juan Gimenez.Īs mentioned before, Mark Russell’s narrative revolves around familiar characters just before the beginning of the original Incal series. At the same time, he does it in his own style, which is a much more modern, American superhero style of art. Yanick Paquette is a very good comic book artist and recreates the settings and characters well.

In this sense, the art fits very well in the Incal universe. There are plenty of adult themes, disturbing images and nudity. But, everything about the book makes it impossible not to compare.įirst off, be warned! As with every series set in The Incal universe, this is not a book for children. It may be unfair to compare Psychoverse to the original Incal, since the latter is considered one of the best comics ever made.
